10 days of yoga and snow! We are looking forward to having a retreat in the French Alps and practicing yoga intensively. The Hanuman Club in Chamonix (French Alps) becomes location for a Ashtanga Yoga Workshop.

(click on pic to enlarge) Christmas Holiday Ashtanga Yoga Workshop in the Hanuman Club in Chamonix (French Alps): 12.26.05 - 01.02.06The Hanuman Club is nestled in the Chamonix valley, surrounded by forest and the most famous mountain peaks in Europe. The luxury chalet accomodates 10 guests based on three to a room and bathroom, although rooms can be booked privately or for couples (additional charges apply). The practice space is located in the chalet itself, with giant floor-to-ceiling windows providing awesome views on two sides, and heated floors to keep yogi toes warm. The windows frame a giant two-story fireplace, a perfect spot to curl up with a book from our extensive library of eastern and yogic philosophy. We start our day with a Vinyasa Yoga Class for getting awake. It will be a soft class with stabilising asanas for some of us might want to go on their skis after that. When you come back from your snow activities in the afternoon, you can look forward to your Ashtanga Yoga Class. The advanced yogis are having a Mysore Class with Arjuna and the beginners start their practice of Ashtanga Yoga in a Fundamental Class with Melanie. In the evening we are turning to the inner practices of yoga: pranayama and meditation. Or we are sitting in around the fire place and listening to old yogic stories told by Arjuna. Special events are planned for the evening before New Year! The open kitchen and dining area also boast phenomenal views, and guests are welcome to hang out and watch our vegetarian cook work his magic. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available at all times. The chalet is situated in an area of Chamonix called Lavanchee, less than 10 minutes' drive to the town centre or lifts; and winter enthusiasts can hike, snowshoe or cross-country ski from the back door! You can stay as long as you want in the given periode. For five days the costs are 800 Euros, for ten days 1300 Euros (including lodging, food and yoga).
